Mini Trebuchet
1. Which location and time period did you choose to represent in your trebuchet design? How does your trebuchet represent this location and time period?
We decided to create a mini trebuchet based of of ancient Egypt by creating skis on the bottom of the trebuchet like they used to help it move through the sand. We also added egyptian hieroglyphs on different parts.
2. The 21st century skills involved in this project were creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and communication. Which of these skills do you feel was your strongest soft skill during this project? Which do you feel was your greatest area of growth? Reflect on and describe why you selected these skills, and support your response with direct evidence from the project.
The main skill that I need to work on is collaboration. During this project I got easily distracted and had trouble to working with my group members. The main skill that I did well with was was critical thinking because when we had troubles with our designs I was able to move pst and create solutions.

Rube Project
This project was a struggle for our group because the majority of our group didn't work well together. One of the main positives was that we got some of our groups steps on but still made what we had work. Our group mainly struggled because of the opposing personalities and people easily getting off topic and not working on what they needed to. Since most people didn't work until the last minute half of our groups steps didn't make it onto the board. Our group fought a lot and ended up having a restorative justice circle because it got bad enough that our group was not functioning anymore. I will accept that this project wasn't my best work and learn to communicate better with groups.
Theoretically you drop a 7 gram (.007 kilogram) steel ball into a bucket 50 centimeters away with a pulley attached. To calculate the potential energy you multiply the mass (.007) times the gravity (9.81 m/s2 ) times the height (.5 mt). The potential energy is .034334 Joules. When the ball lands the velocity is .45 m/ps2 multiplied by the mass (.007) times .5. The kinetic energy then is .00070875 Joules.
We started designing our rube by creating a cartoon of what we wanted to do. People would decide on steps they wanted to do and we would draw them. We then looked at steps that wouldn't work and eliminate them and had that kid come up with something else. I think my main strength was Critical thinking because I had to think about how to get steps to work that were not previously. The main skill that I need to work on is collaboration. I really struggled with that because our group didn't get along and we fought a lot. A one point we were fighting so much that we wanted to kick a kid out of our group but ended up working past our problems.
